Our first narrative song saga was a multimedia ghost story inspired loosely by Irish folk song “She Moved Through The Fair,” a beautiful song that was itself inspired in part by an epidemic of tuberculosis and death in the late 19th-century.
Softly, She Came is told through 9 songs which narratively mirror the five stages of grief, and was devised and performed in collaboration with NYC-based Butoh dancer Lillian Rossetti, debuting in a sold-out run at Portland, Oregon’s legendary Lovecraft Bar and reprised at the 2013 Vampire’s Masquerade Ball.
In addition to chilling movement performances, the show features uniquely adaptive video projections alongside the live band.
